How To Uninstall erlang On Debian 9

To uninstall erlang just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just erlang

Concurrent, real-time, distributed functional languageDebian 9.0interpreters1:19.2.1+dfsg-2
sudo apt-get remove erlang

This will remove just the erlang package itself.

Uninstall erlang and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove erlang

This will remove the erlang package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for erlang then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge erlang

Or similarly, like this erlang

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove erlang
