How To Uninstall esmtp-run On Debian 9

To uninstall esmtp-run just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just esmtp-run

user configurable relay-only MTA - the regular MTADebian 9.0mail1.2-14
sudo apt-get remove esmtp-run

This will remove just the esmtp-run package itself.

Uninstall esmtp-run and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove esmtp-run

This will remove the esmtp-run package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for esmtp-run then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge esmtp-run

Or similarly, like this esmtp-run

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove esmtp-run
