How To Uninstall esmtp On Debian 9

To uninstall esmtp just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just esmtp

user configurable relay-only MTADebian 9.0mail1.2-14
sudo apt-get remove esmtp

This will remove just the esmtp package itself.

Uninstall esmtp and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove esmtp

This will remove the esmtp package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for esmtp then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge esmtp

Or similarly, like this esmtp

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove esmtp
