How To Uninstall evince On Debian 9

To uninstall evince just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just evince

Document (PostScript, PDF) viewerDebian 9.0gnome3.22.1-3
sudo apt-get remove evince

This will remove just the evince package itself.

Uninstall evince and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove evince

This will remove the evince package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for evince then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge evince

Or similarly, like this evince

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove evince
