How To Uninstall expat On Debian 9

To uninstall expat just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just expat

XML parsing C library - example applicationDebian 9.0text2.2.0-2
sudo apt-get remove expat

This will remove just the expat package itself.

Uninstall expat and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove expat

This will remove the expat package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for expat then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge expat

Or similarly, like this expat

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove expat
