How To Uninstall extract On Debian 9

To uninstall extract just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just extract

displays meta-data from files of arbitrary typeDebian 9.0utils1:1.3-4+b2
sudo apt-get remove extract

This will remove just the extract package itself.

Uninstall extract and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove extract

This will remove the extract package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for extract then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge extract

Or similarly, like this extract

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove extract
