How To Uninstall fancontrol On Debian 9

To uninstall fancontrol just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fancontrol

utility to control the fan speedDebian 9.0utils1:3.4.0-4
sudo apt-get remove fancontrol

This will remove just the fancontrol package itself.

Uninstall fancontrol and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fancontrol

This will remove the fancontrol package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fancontrol then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fancontrol

Or similarly, like this fancontrol

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fancontrol
