How To Uninstall fdupes On Debian 9

To uninstall fdupes just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fdupes

identifies duplicate files within given directoriesDebian 9.0utils1:1.6.1-1+b1
sudo apt-get remove fdupes

This will remove just the fdupes package itself.

Uninstall fdupes and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fdupes

This will remove the fdupes package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fdupes then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fdupes

Or similarly, like this fdupes

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fdupes
