How To Uninstall festival-dev On Debian 9

To uninstall festival-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just festival-dev

Development kit for the Festival speech synthesis systemDebian 9.0libdevel1:2.4~release-3+b1
sudo apt-get remove festival-dev

This will remove just the festival-dev package itself.

Uninstall festival-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove festival-dev

This will remove the festival-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for festival-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge festival-dev

Or similarly, like this festival-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove festival-dev
