How To Uninstall festival On Debian 9

To uninstall festival just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just festival

General multi-lingual speech synthesis systemDebian 9.0sound1:2.4~release-3+b1
sudo apt-get remove festival

This will remove just the festival package itself.

Uninstall festival and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove festival

This will remove the festival package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for festival then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge festival

Or similarly, like this festival

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove festival
