How To Uninstall fetchmail On Debian 9

To uninstall fetchmail just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fetchmail

SSL enabled POP3, APOP, IMAP mail gatherer/forwarderDebian 9.0mail6.3.26-3
sudo apt-get remove fetchmail

This will remove just the fetchmail package itself.

Uninstall fetchmail and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fetchmail

This will remove the fetchmail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fetchmail then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fetchmail

Or similarly, like this fetchmail

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fetchmail
