How To Uninstall file-rc On Debian 9

To uninstall file-rc just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just file-rc

Alternative boot mechanism using a single configuration fileDebian 9.0admin0.8.18
sudo apt-get remove file-rc

This will remove just the file-rc package itself.

Uninstall file-rc and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove file-rc

This will remove the file-rc package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for file-rc then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge file-rc

Or similarly, like this file-rc

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove file-rc
