How To Uninstall fingerd On Debian 9

To uninstall fingerd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fingerd

remote user information serverDebian 9.0net0.17-15.1
sudo apt-get remove fingerd

This will remove just the fingerd package itself.

Uninstall fingerd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fingerd

This will remove the fingerd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fingerd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fingerd

Or similarly, like this fingerd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fingerd
