How To Uninstall firewalld On Debian 9

To uninstall firewalld just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just firewalld

dynamically managed firewall with support for network zonesDebian 9.0net0.4.4.2-1
sudo apt-get remove firewalld

This will remove just the firewalld package itself.

Uninstall firewalld and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove firewalld

This will remove the firewalld package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for firewalld then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge firewalld

Or similarly, like this firewalld

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove firewalld
