How To Uninstall fish On Debian 9

To uninstall fish just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fish

friendly interactive shellDebian 9.0shells2.4.0-1
sudo apt-get remove fish

This will remove just the fish package itself.

Uninstall fish and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fish

This will remove the fish package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fish then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fish

Or similarly, like this fish

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fish
