How To Uninstall fitsh On Debian 9

To uninstall fitsh just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fitsh

Software package for astronomical image processingDebian 9.0science0.9.2-1+b1
sudo apt-get remove fitsh

This will remove just the fitsh package itself.

Uninstall fitsh and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fitsh

This will remove the fitsh package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fitsh then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fitsh

Or similarly, like this fitsh

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fitsh
