How To Uninstall fitsverify On Debian 9

To uninstall fitsverify just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fitsverify

FITS File Format-Verification ToolDebian 9.0science4.18-1+b1
sudo apt-get remove fitsverify

This will remove just the fitsverify package itself.

Uninstall fitsverify and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fitsverify

This will remove the fitsverify package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fitsverify then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fitsverify

Or similarly, like this fitsverify

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fitsverify
