How To Uninstall fonts-freefont-otf On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-freefont-otf just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-freefont-otf

Freefont Serif, Sans and Mono OpenType fontsDebian 9.0fonts20120503-6
sudo apt-get remove fonts-freefont-otf

This will remove just the fonts-freefont-otf package itself.

Uninstall fonts-freefont-otf and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-freefont-otf

This will remove the fonts-freefont-otf package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-freefont-otf then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-freefont-otf

Or similarly, like this fonts-freefont-otf

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-freefont-otf
