How To Uninstall fonts-ipafont-gothic On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-ipafont-gothic just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-ipafont-gothic

Japanese OpenType font set, IPA Gothic and IPA P Gothic FontsDebian 9.0fonts00303-16
sudo apt-get remove fonts-ipafont-gothic

This will remove just the fonts-ipafont-gothic package itself.

Uninstall fonts-ipafont-gothic and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-ipafont-gothic

This will remove the fonts-ipafont-gothic package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-ipafont-gothic then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-ipafont-gothic

Or similarly, like this fonts-ipafont-gothic

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-ipafont-gothic
