How To Uninstall fonts-ipafont On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-ipafont just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-ipafont

Japanese OpenType font set, all IPA FontsDebian 9.0fonts00303-16
sudo apt-get remove fonts-ipafont

This will remove just the fonts-ipafont package itself.

Uninstall fonts-ipafont and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-ipafont

This will remove the fonts-ipafont package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-ipafont then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-ipafont

Or similarly, like this fonts-ipafont

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-ipafont
