How To Uninstall fonts-lato On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-lato just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-lato

sans-serif typeface family fontDebian 9.0fonts2.0-1
sudo apt-get remove fonts-lato

This will remove just the fonts-lato package itself.

Uninstall fonts-lato and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-lato

This will remove the fonts-lato package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-lato then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-lato

Or similarly, like this fonts-lato

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-lato
