How To Uninstall fonts-mplus On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-mplus just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-mplus

M+ sans serif fonts with different weightsDebian 9.0fonts062-1
sudo apt-get remove fonts-mplus

This will remove just the fonts-mplus package itself.

Uninstall fonts-mplus and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-mplus

This will remove the fonts-mplus package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-mplus then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-mplus

Or similarly, like this fonts-mplus

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-mplus
