How To Uninstall fonts-octicons On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-octicons just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-octicons

GitHub's icons fontDebian 9.0fonts4.4.0-1
sudo apt-get remove fonts-octicons

This will remove just the fonts-octicons package itself.

Uninstall fonts-octicons and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-octicons

This will remove the fonts-octicons package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-octicons then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-octicons

Or similarly, like this fonts-octicons

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-octicons
