How To Uninstall fonts-opensymbol On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-opensymbol just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-opensymbol

OpenSymbol TrueType fontDebian 9.0fonts2:102.7+LibO5.2.7-1
sudo apt-get remove fonts-opensymbol

This will remove just the fonts-opensymbol package itself.

Uninstall fonts-opensymbol and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-opensymbol

This will remove the fonts-opensymbol package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-opensymbol then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-opensymbol

Or similarly, like this fonts-opensymbol

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-opensymbol
