How To Uninstall fonts-symbola On Debian 9

To uninstall fonts-symbola just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fonts-symbola

symbolic font providing emoji characters from Unicode 7.0Debian 9.0fonts2.59-1
sudo apt-get remove fonts-symbola

This will remove just the fonts-symbola package itself.

Uninstall fonts-symbola and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fonts-symbola

This will remove the fonts-symbola package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fonts-symbola then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fonts-symbola

Or similarly, like this fonts-symbola

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fonts-symbola
