How To Uninstall fprintd On Debian 9

To uninstall fprintd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just fprintd

D-Bus daemon for fingerprint reader accessDebian 9.0misc0.7.0-1
sudo apt-get remove fprintd

This will remove just the fprintd package itself.

Uninstall fprintd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove fprintd

This will remove the fprintd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for fprintd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge fprintd

Or similarly, like this fprintd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove fprintd
