How To Uninstall freeipmi-bmc-watchdog On Debian 9

To uninstall freeipmi-bmc-watchdog just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just freeipmi-bmc-watchdog

GNU implementation of the IPMI protocol - BMC watchdogDebian 9.0admin1.4.11-1.1+b1
sudo apt-get remove freeipmi-bmc-watchdog

This will remove just the freeipmi-bmc-watchdog package itself.

Uninstall freeipmi-bmc-watchdog and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove freeipmi-bmc-watchdog

This will remove the freeipmi-bmc-watchdog package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for freeipmi-bmc-watchdog then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge freeipmi-bmc-watchdog

Or similarly, like this freeipmi-bmc-watchdog

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove freeipmi-bmc-watchdog
