How To Uninstall freeipmi-ipmidetect On Debian 9

To uninstall freeipmi-ipmidetect just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just freeipmi-ipmidetect

GNU IPMI - IPMI node detection toolDebian 9.0admin1.4.11-1.1+b1
sudo apt-get remove freeipmi-ipmidetect

This will remove just the freeipmi-ipmidetect package itself.

Uninstall freeipmi-ipmidetect and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove freeipmi-ipmidetect

This will remove the freeipmi-ipmidetect package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for freeipmi-ipmidetect then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge freeipmi-ipmidetect

Or similarly, like this freeipmi-ipmidetect

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove freeipmi-ipmidetect
