How To Uninstall freemat On Debian 9

To uninstall freemat just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just freemat

mathematics framework (mostly matlab compatible)Debian 9.0math4.2+dfsg1-4
sudo apt-get remove freemat

This will remove just the freemat package itself.

Uninstall freemat and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove freemat

This will remove the freemat package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for freemat then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge freemat

Or similarly, like this freemat

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove freemat
