How To Uninstall ftools-fv On Debian 9

To uninstall ftools-fv just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ftools-fv

Tool for viewing and editing FITS format filesDebian 9.0science5.4+dfsg-2
sudo apt-get remove ftools-fv

This will remove just the ftools-fv package itself.

Uninstall ftools-fv and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ftools-fv

This will remove the ftools-fv package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ftools-fv then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ftools-fv

Or similarly, like this ftools-fv

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ftools-fv
