How To Uninstall ftpd On Debian 9

To uninstall ftpd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ftpd

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) serverDebian 9.0net0.17-36
sudo apt-get remove ftpd

This will remove just the ftpd package itself.

Uninstall ftpd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ftpd

This will remove the ftpd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ftpd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ftpd

Or similarly, like this ftpd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ftpd
