How To Uninstall libfreetype6 On Debian 9

To uninstall libfreetype6 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libfreetype6

FreeType 2 font engine, shared library filesDebian 9.0libs2.6.3-3.2
sudo apt-get remove libfreetype6

This will remove just the libfreetype6 package itself.

Uninstall libfreetype6 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libfreetype6

This will remove the libfreetype6 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libfreetype6 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libfreetype6

Or similarly, like this libfreetype6

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libfreetype6
