How To Uninstall libgcj-common On Debian 9

To uninstall libgcj-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgcj-common

Java runtime library (common files)Debian 9.0java1:6.3-4
sudo apt-get remove libgcj-common

This will remove just the libgcj-common package itself.

Uninstall libgcj-common and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgcj-common

This will remove the libgcj-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgcj-common then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgcj-common

Or similarly, like this libgcj-common

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgcj-common
