How To Uninstall makedev On Debian 9

To uninstall makedev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just makedev

creates device files in /devDebian 9.0admin2.3.1-93
sudo apt-get remove makedev

This will remove just the makedev package itself.

Uninstall makedev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove makedev

This will remove the makedev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for makedev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge makedev

Or similarly, like this makedev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove makedev
