How To Uninstall mate-settings-daemon-common On Debian 9

To uninstall mate-settings-daemon-common just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mate-settings-daemon-common

daemon handling the MATE session settings (common files)Debian 9.0x111.16.2-1
sudo apt-get remove mate-settings-daemon-common

This will remove just the mate-settings-daemon-common package itself.

Uninstall mate-settings-daemon-common and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mate-settings-daemon-common

This will remove the mate-settings-daemon-common package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mate-settings-daemon-common then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mate-settings-daemon-common

Or similarly, like this mate-settings-daemon-common

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mate-settings-daemon-common
