How To Uninstall memstat On Debian 9

To uninstall memstat just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just memstat

Identify what's using up virtual memoryDebian 9.0admin1.0+b1
sudo apt-get remove memstat

This will remove just the memstat package itself.

Uninstall memstat and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove memstat

This will remove the memstat package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for memstat then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge memstat

Or similarly, like this memstat

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove memstat
