How To Uninstall mongodb On Debian 9

To uninstall mongodb just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mongodb

object/document-oriented database (metapackage)Debian 9.0database1:3.2.11-2
sudo apt-get remove mongodb

This will remove just the mongodb package itself.

Uninstall mongodb and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mongodb

This will remove the mongodb package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mongodb then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mongodb

Or similarly, like this mongodb

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mongodb
