How To Uninstall msrtool On Debian 9

To uninstall msrtool just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just msrtool

Dump chipset-specific MSR contentsDebian 9.0utils1:20141027-1.1
sudo apt-get remove msrtool

This will remove just the msrtool package itself.

Uninstall msrtool and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove msrtool

This will remove the msrtool package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for msrtool then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge msrtool

Or similarly, like this msrtool

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove msrtool
