How To Uninstall mtools On Debian 9

To uninstall mtools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mtools

Tools for manipulating MSDOS filesDebian 9.0otherosfs4.0.18-2+b1
sudo apt-get remove mtools

This will remove just the mtools package itself.

Uninstall mtools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mtools

This will remove the mtools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mtools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mtools

Or similarly, like this mtools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mtools
