How To Uninstall openjdk-8-dbg On Debian 9

To uninstall openjdk-8-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just openjdk-8-dbg

linuxJava runtime based on OpenJDK (debugging symbols)debug8u131-b11-2
sudo apt-get remove openjdk-8-dbg

This will remove just the openjdk-8-dbg package itself.

Uninstall openjdk-8-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove openjdk-8-dbg

This will remove the openjdk-8-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for openjdk-8-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge openjdk-8-dbg

Or similarly, like this openjdk-8-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove openjdk-8-dbg
