How To Uninstall opensmtpd On Debian 9

To uninstall opensmtpd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just opensmtpd

linuxsecure, reliable, lean, and easy-to configure SMTP servermail6.0.2p1-2
sudo apt-get remove opensmtpd

This will remove just the opensmtpd package itself.

Uninstall opensmtpd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove opensmtpd

This will remove the opensmtpd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for opensmtpd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge opensmtpd

Or similarly, like this opensmtpd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove opensmtpd
