How To Uninstall org-mode On Debian 9

To uninstall org-mode just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just org-mode

keep notes, maintain ToDo lists, and do project planning in emacsDebian 9.0misc9.0.3-2
sudo apt-get remove org-mode

This will remove just the org-mode package itself.

Uninstall org-mode and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove org-mode

This will remove the org-mode package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for org-mode then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge org-mode

Or similarly, like this org-mode

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove org-mode
