How To Uninstall python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data On Debian 9

To uninstall python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data

matplotlib toolkit to plot on map projections (data package)Debian 9.0python1.0.7+dfsg-4
sudo apt-get remove python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data

This will remove just the python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data package itself.

Uninstall python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data

This will remove the python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data

Or similarly, like this python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python-mpltoolkits.basemap-data
