How To Uninstall python2.7 On Debian 9

To uninstall python2.7 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just python2.7

Interactive high-level object-oriented language (version 2.7)Debian 9.0python2.7.13-2
sudo apt-get remove python2.7

This will remove just the python2.7 package itself.

Uninstall python2.7 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove python2.7

This will remove the python2.7 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for python2.7 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge python2.7

Or similarly, like this python2.7

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove python2.7
