How To Uninstall r-cran-hdf5 On Debian 9

To uninstall r-cran-hdf5 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just r-cran-hdf5

GNU R package interfacing the NCSA HDF5 libraryDebian 9.0gnu-r1.6.10-4+b1
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-hdf5

This will remove just the r-cran-hdf5 package itself.

Uninstall r-cran-hdf5 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove r-cran-hdf5

This will remove the r-cran-hdf5 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for r-cran-hdf5 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge r-cran-hdf5

Or similarly, like this r-cran-hdf5

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove r-cran-hdf5
