How To Uninstall rake-compiler On Debian 9

To uninstall rake-compiler just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rake-compiler

Rake-based Ruby Extension (C, Java) task generatorDebian 9.0ruby0.9.5-2
sudo apt-get remove rake-compiler

This will remove just the rake-compiler package itself.

Uninstall rake-compiler and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rake-compiler

This will remove the rake-compiler package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rake-compiler then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rake-compiler

Or similarly, like this rake-compiler

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rake-compiler
