How To Uninstall rdate On Debian 9

To uninstall rdate just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rdate

sets the system's date from a remote hostDebian 9.0net1:1.2-6
sudo apt-get remove rdate

This will remove just the rdate package itself.

Uninstall rdate and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rdate

This will remove the rdate package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rdate then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rdate

Or similarly, like this rdate

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rdate
