How To Uninstall rdiff-backup On Debian 9

To uninstall rdiff-backup just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rdiff-backup

remote incremental backupDebian 9.0utils1.2.8-7
sudo apt-get remove rdiff-backup

This will remove just the rdiff-backup package itself.

Uninstall rdiff-backup and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rdiff-backup

This will remove the rdiff-backup package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rdiff-backup then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rdiff-backup

Or similarly, like this rdiff-backup

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rdiff-backup
