How To Uninstall rdist On Debian 9

To uninstall rdist just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just rdist

remote file distribution client and serverDebian 9.0net6.1.5-19
sudo apt-get remove rdist

This will remove just the rdist package itself.

Uninstall rdist and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove rdist

This will remove the rdist package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for rdist then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge rdist

Or similarly, like this rdist

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove rdist
