How To Uninstall redis-server On Debian 9

To uninstall redis-server just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just redis-server

Persistent key-value database with network interfaceDebian 9.0database3:3.2.6-1
sudo apt-get remove redis-server

This will remove just the redis-server package itself.

Uninstall redis-server and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove redis-server

This will remove the redis-server package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for redis-server then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge redis-server

Or similarly, like this redis-server

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove redis-server
